Patrick Shih recently wrapped up filming a new campus drama series, once again challenging the character of a junior student. For him, it is a fleeting opportunity every time he plays a junior student. “I feel like I should take on high school roles while I still can,” he says with a smile. “As I grow older, these chances will dwindle, and my mindset is quite different now from the time when I filmed Someday or One Day.” Reflecting on the experiences, he noted the stark contrast when working with real high school students on set. “They are no doubt real high school students. They are always energetic. I tried to keep up with their pace, but sometimes I’d just feel inexplicably tired,” he laughs.

Patrick admits that this project made him realize the inevitable gap between himself and younger actors in terms of stamina. However, in terms of trending topics, he can still manage to keep up, because he frequently browses interesting trending topics. Looking forward, Patrick hopes to take on roles that resonate deeper with real life, offering audiences a more authentic glimpse into who he truly is. “I’m eager to play characters that are closer to reality” he says, hinting at a shift in focus. His aspirations now extend beyond superficial challenges—he seeks a deeper connection with his roles, to convey personal iterations through his performances.

生活與工作

在緊湊的演藝生活裡，找到內心的節奏對每個人來說都至關重要，這也是施柏宇持續成長的祕訣之一。每當拍攝告一段落後，他總會給自己一段緩衝時間，回歸到日常的生活模式中。「每次殺青後，我都會利用時間重新調整自己的節奏，運動、和朋友聚餐，或者只是簡單地看場電影，這些都讓我重新充滿能量。」對於該如何為自己充電，他曾仔細思考過，屬於內向I型人格的他，竟曾被朋友說是外向E型人格，雖然有點意外，但他也覺得合理地說：「很多人會覺得E型和I型是完全相反的類型，但對我來說，這並不矛盾。」獨處時的平靜與與朋友相處的快樂，對他來說是同樣重要的生活補給來源。正是在這樣的自我認知過程中，讓施柏宇逐漸掌握如何在工作和生活之間找到平衡的技巧。這種對內心狀態的精準把握，讓他能夠在每一次工作中保持專注和冷靜，即便工作強度再高，也不會輕易感到壓力失衡。

In the fast-paced world of entertainment, finding one’s own rhythm is essential. For Patrick, it has been a key factor to his ongoing growth. After each project wraps up, he prioritizes his alone time to decompress and ease back into the flow of everyday life. “Whenever filming ends, I take time to readjust—whether it’s through working out, dining with friends, or simply catching a movie, these moments help me recharge.”

Patrick has put a lot of thought into the most optimal way to restore his energy. Although he is an introvert, friends often mistaken him for an extrovert—a realization that surprised him but made sense. “Many people think being introverted and extroverted are opposites, but for me, they’re not contradictory at all.” Solitude and peaceful moments are just as important to him as the joy he finds in socializing. This self-awareness has enabled Patrick to master the art of balancing work and life. His keen understanding of his mental state allows him to stay calm and focused even during the most demanding schedules, ensuring he never feels overwhelmed by the pressure.

堅持與挑戰

Dedication and Challenge

For Patrick, sports are more than just a hobby—they’re an integral part of his life and a cornerstone of his personal growth. As a former high school basketball team member, he has developed a mindset of perseverance and self-challenge. However, as time passes, his competitive drive has softened. “These days, I don’t play as intensely as I used to. It’s more about unwinding, playing casually with friends, and prioritizing health over victory,” he shares with a smile.

Other than basketball, he occasionally plays tennis and badminton. Patrick noted, “Tennis is incredibly demanding—it’s the sport that tires me out the most!” For Patrick, these activities are not just about maintaining physical fitness, they also serve as a mental refreshment. Whether it is on the basketball court, the tennis court, or the badminton court, sports have become his way of releasing stress and recharging. They offer him an escape from the demands of his career, helping him reconnect with himself and find balance amidst a busy schedule.

啟發與體悟

不僅是因工作需要飛往各地，旅行對施柏宇來說，也是重新發現世界和認識自我的重要途徑。「每次去到一個新的地方，我總會感受到不同的文化和氛圍，那種新鮮感總能給我帶來很多靈感。」對他而言，旅行不僅僅是走馬看花，而是深入體驗當地的生活與文化。他特別喜歡歐洲，那裡濃厚的歷史和文化氣息，讓他每每到訪都讚嘆不已，而這種歷史的沉澱帶給他很多思考與啟發。不過與許多人不同的是，施柏宇並不喜歡用相機來記錄旅途中的點滴：「我更喜歡用心去感受當下，覺得那些體驗是留在心裡的，比拍照記錄下來更真實。」這種專注當下、感受深刻的生活態度，體現了他令人印象深刻的價值觀，也體現出他真實面對一切的態度，就像是他堅信慈善、公益這件事，身體力行去行動更為重要：「我覺得直接去做、去幫助別人，才是真正的意義。」這種無需張揚的善舉，與他生活中的自然態度一致，讓他在追求事業的同時，也保有一顆溫暖而樸實的心。

For Patrick, travel isn’t just about fulfilling work commitments, it is also a vital way to rediscover the world and reconnect with himself. “Every time I visit a new place, I’m struck by the distinct culture and atmosphere. That sense of freshness always sparks inspiration.” For him, travel is far from a whirlwind tour; it’s about immersing himself in the local lifestyle and culture. His love for Europe never fails to captivate him; with its rich history and cultural depth, Europe can always offer him moments of reflection and creative inspiration.

Unlike many, Patrick doesn’t like to record his journeys with a camera. “I prefer to enjoy the moment and keep those memories in my heart. It feels more authentic than a photo,” he shares. This mindful approach to life speaks to his values, unveiling his genuine attitude toward everything he encounters. Just as he believes in the importance of charity, he is convinced that actions speak louder than words: “I think the real meaning lies in directly helping others, simply in doing it.” His reserved, understated generosity mirrors the natural ease he carries in his daily life—balancing a thriving career while remaining grounded with a heart full of warmth and authenticity.
