Serpentine Charm
Born from exquisite craftsmanship, Bvlgari’s 2024 SS24 women’s sunglasses collection plays with the classic serpent eyes, head and geometric scales. Among the novelties, the Viper series draws inspiration from the Serpenti Viper jewels first launched in 2017. Capturing snake scales through abstract techniques, the design doesn’t explicitly depict the image of a serpent, but evokes the boundless charm of the mysterious creature. At first glance, the Serpenti Viper Butterfly shades shine with their butterfly-shaped lenses, along with the imagery of the fluttering creatures. The sinuous gold-finished temples are covered in swerving scales to capture the agility of a serpent’s movement and paired with the oversized frames to achieve the perfect balance between lightness and volume. On the other hand, the Serpenti Viper features a cat-eye frame in understated black and gold temples to showcase a feminine sensuality without being overly extravagant, setting itself as an accessory suitable for everyday wear. Lastly, avant-garde in style, the Serpenti Viper Geometric sunglasses come with side designs resembling multi-faceted gem cuts and a voluminous body marking its strong presence, suitable for accentuating facial features and establishing a grandiose demeanor.

Captivating Masterpieces
Having just received acclaim for FENDI’s SS24 womenswear, thanks to Kim Jones, the creative director of womenswear and couture, the Italian house once again presents a series of captivating masterpieces in its latest SS24 haute couture collection. Designed by FENDI’s jeweler, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, the white k gold diamond-studded sunglasses feature a sleek and futuristic design. The gemstones adorning the frames shimmer with delicate radiance and highlight facial features, much like a face chain. With the addition of frames, which provides support that chains lack, wearers with fuller faces won’t appear chubby; instead, the angular features create a visual illusion of a smaller face. With the help of eyewear expert Thélios, 3D facial scanning and augmented reality technology are offered at FENDI’s private salons to assist customers in customizing glasses. From the futuristic frame lines and lenses that seem to float in mid-air, everything complements the light and airy silhouettes designed by Jones to create an unprecedented fusion of elegance and technology, elevating luxury eyewear to a brand new level.

Elegance Revealed Since its founding, the French luxury house Givenchy has been known for its elegant style. As time progresses, the brand’s core remains the same, yet gradually, one can find strength and fierceness in its signature elegance. One of the most iconic designs by the founder, Hubert de Givenchy, is undoubtedly the little black dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, as it showcases a portrayal of elegance with determination that epitomizes timeless beauty. A Gentleman’s Standard
As one of the luxury brands famous for its eyewear, PRADA showcases duality in its AW24 menswear runway, which is themed around the office world and natural vistas. Despite being just one step away from achieving the natural cycle, humanity remains bound by reality, unable to transcend its limitations. Models take the stage wearing suits and ties tightly wrapped around their necks, with colorful swim caps and three dimensional sunglasses reminiscent of goggles, and demonstrate a clashing aesthetics between order and abnormality.

The MYKITA 2023/24 campaign perfectly captures the unique identity and taste of the Berlin-based brand. The clever combination of design and narrative reminds people of the origin of the brand name, Kita, meaning children’s day care in German. Translating to “my day care,” My Kita becomes a symbol of curiosity, learning and fun. Through presenting individuality, the brand celebrates self-expression and subjectivity, in the hopes that anyone wearing MYKITA can find beauty in the world they see.

MYKITA和032c共同打造了一系列聯名眼鏡設計以慶祝柏林式的在地獨立精神。說起032c,原為一間柏林的雜誌社,無心插柳之下開始了實驗性的服裝品牌,而032c代表著PANTON色票中的鮮紅色色號,在音樂跟政治上帶有反叛色彩,因此時裝相對於外在的美化更像是獨立精神的傳遞媒介。聯名眼鏡系列Marfa同時融合了MYKITA的俐落線條與032c的潮流美學,份量感的包裹式設展現巨大份量的視覺效果,透過專利材質仍保有輕量感;圓潤鏡框搭配稍微傾斜的鏡面弧度帶有侵略性,富有生命力及吉格爾式異形的美感。秀場中一片綠意盎然與明度低的整體造搭配大框架、野心勃勃的份量感墨鏡,鮮明的對比下反而更能看出兩個獨立先鋒品牌的精神內核。
Independent Forerunner
MYKITA and 032c have co-created a collection of eyewear to celebrate the independent spirit of Berlin. Originally a magazine based in Berlin, 032c inadvertently founded an experimental clothing brand. The name also represents the bright red color code in PANTONE, as the shade carries rebellious connotations in music and politics. Therefore, fashion, compared to external beauty, serves more as a medium for conveying the spirit of independence. Titled Marfa, the collaboration piece encapsulates MYKITA’s sleek lines with 032c’s trendy aesthetics through a voluminous wraparound design, with minimal weight thanks to patented materials. The round frames complemented by slightly tilted curvature exude a sense of dominance and showcase vitality with an eccentric Giger-styled beauty. Amidst the lush green runway, the ample and ambitious sunglasses stand out, presenting a vivid contrast that underscores the core spirits of these independent, avant-garde brands.
