Reflecting on various stages of his life, Sunny (Yang Ming, Wang) consistently transcends conventional thinking, meeting the world’s challenges with unwavering determination. Much like his beloved ocean teeming with the unknown, he embraces adventure with fervor, knowing that beauty reveals itself only to those who dare to venture forth.

盛夏的陽光總是特別耀眼，拍攝日當天的王陽明就如同這陽光般充滿自信與魅力。在休息的空檔，王陽明也坐下來與我們聊聊他自己、新電影以及對未來的藍圖。現在處於人生新階段的他，不僅僅是演員、父親，更是致力於建立屬於自己「王國」的實業家…….

The midsummer sun was exceptionally bright, much like the radiance Sunny extruded on the day of our photoshoot, revealing his confidence and charm. During intermissions, he sat down and shared his journey, his new film, and his blueprint for the future. In a transitional stage of his life, Sunny is not just an actor and a father, but also a visionary entrepreneur dedicated to building his own “empire”…

自成一格，無懼框架

從小接受美式教育的王陽明，平時行事作風既酷帥又洋派，不過這樣子的他其實非常熟悉台式文化，尤其今年夏天他更以Michael一角回歸以台灣黑幫為主題的系列電影《角頭——大橋頭》，他提到：「台灣各地都有角頭文化，認識我的人都知道我北中南都有角頭朋友，這圈子對我來說一點都不遠，其實看我身上的刺青就知道了。加上我是ABC，帥帥的又帶點殺氣，而Michael剛好也是在國外長大的，所以《角頭》老闆認為我很適合這角色，因為擁有這樣的背景對角頭文化來說是非常有新鮮感、國際化的。」

王陽明的成長經歷使他完美消化、平衡這兩種相異的文化，飾演Michael這角色讓他覺得好似在「演自己」般，一切都是如此信手捻來。而「演自己」這件事對於許多演員來說，難免都會成為往後演員之路被定型的隱憂，但對於王陽明來說他一點都不擔心，他反倒是樂見其成地說：「我認為被定型不代表你就是不好的演員，就算定型這條路還是可以走得很長久，只要你把一件事做到極致、做到最好，就會成為自己專屬的風格；就算是一種風格，裡面還有很多不同的分類與身份，或許我以後也可以嘗試看看飾演黑道大哥。（笑）」

從此番談話中，不難發現王陽明的想法非常特別，他不會拘限自己，也不讓自己被拘限，就算在框架裡，他也會嘗試走出屬於自己的一條道路。

Individuality, Boundless Audacity

Having received education in the States at a very young age, Sunny carries a cool and cosmopolitan demeanor. Yet, he is deeply rooted in Taiwanese culture. This summer, he stepped into the spotlight casting as Michael in the Taiwanese gangster film series “Gatao – Like Father Like Son.” Sunny explains, “Gang culture is prevalent across Taiwan. Those who know me are aware that I have connections in the northern, central, and southern regions. This culture isn’t foreign to me at all; my tattoos tell the story. As an American-born Chinese, I have this blend of style and aggression, which mirrors Michael, who also grew up abroad. My boss at ‘Gatao’ felt I was a perfect fit for the role because my background adds a fresh, international dimension to the gang culture.”

Sunny’s upbringing uniquely positions him to navigate and blend these contrasting cultures seamlessly. Playing Michael felt like playing a character authentically relatable to himself, a role he slipped into naturally. Many actors want to avoid this alignment to avoid typecasting, but this is not the case for Sunny. He embraces all forms of casting, “I believe being typecast doesn’t mean you’re a bad actor. Even within a specific style, there are numerous subcategories and identities. If you master and excel at one particular thing, it becomes your signature. Perhaps I might try playing a mafia boss in the future. (laughs)”

Sunny’s perspective is unique; he refuses to be confined. Even within set boundaries, he would find ways to lead his path.

家庭第一，全心陪伴

適逢八月父親節，以及這回新電影《角頭——大橋頭》中提及了不少父子間的情感，這也令人不禁好奇，王陽明褪下酷帥、硬漢的形象，轉變成「女兒傻瓜」的模樣會是如何。談及與寶貝女兒間的相處點滴，王陽明總是藏不住笑意：「她今年才四歲，我們雖然還沒辦法聊很深的心事，但有開始慢慢的聊天，像是她之前想要一個妹妹，最近又跟我說想要一個弟弟，蠻有趣的（笑），我很期待之後跟她談更多心裡話。」

作為一位父親，他也深知自己最重要的任務就是要讓女兒開心：「我女兒很容易開心，她也很活潑喜歡逗樂大家跟團隊，至於我在她眼中，主要就是扮演小丑的角色，不過我在女兒的眼中扮演怎樣的角色其實不重要，酷的也好、搞笑的也罷，我只想讓女兒知道我一輩子都會在她身邊讓她開心。」儘管只是如此的說著，也能強烈感受到他對女兒滿滿的愛。

除此之外，王陽明不只是「女兒傻瓜」而已，他也清楚的知道，要教導女兒學習保護自己的觀念，所以從女兒兩歲開始，就開始教她練習巴西柔術、拳擊等，希望以後她能夠在擁有這些防身技巧下，不需要爸爸親自出馬就能好好保護自己。

除了扮演好父親的身份，作為一位能成為彼此後盾的神隊友，對王陽明來說也是現階段跟另一半相處的重要關鍵，由於雙方都有自己的演藝事業，尊重並支持對方的行程與工作，並且擁有犧牲倆人單獨相處時光的共識，只要讓小孩能在得到充足陪伴下成長，一切都是值得的。

Family First, Love Immersed

With Father’s Day coming up in August, Sunny’s latest film, “Gatao – Like Father Like Son,” delves into the intricate bonds between father and son. It piques curiosity of the softer side of this cool and tough actor—specifically, his role as a devoted and doting father. When reflecting on moments with his adorable daughter, Sunny’s face brightens with an irrepressible smile: “She’s only four, so our conversations aren’t very deep yet, but we’re starting to talk more. A while ago, she said she wanted a little sister, and more recently, a little brother. It’s quite amusing (laughs). I look forward to engaging in more heartfelt conversations with her in the future.”

As a father, Sunny is aware that his primary duty is to ensure his daughter’s happiness. “She’s easily pleased and loves to make everyone around her laugh, including my team. To her, I’m just a clown. But it doesn’t matter whether I’m cool or funny in her eyes. I just want her to know that I’ll always be there to make her happy.” Despite the casual remarks, his profound love for his daughter seems palpable.

Sunny is not just a doting father, he is also mindful of instilling self-protection skills in his daughter. From the age of two, his daughter has been learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu and boxing. He hopes that with these self-defense skills, she will be able to protect herself without her father’s intervention.

Other than balancing fatherhood, Sunny also emphasizes the significance of having a partner who has your back when your hands are full. With both he and his wife pursuing careers in the entertainment industry, mutual respect and support for each other’s schedules are crucial. They have agreed to make sacrifices to their couple time to ensure their child grows up with ample parental presence. For Sunny, maintaining this balance is essential and worthwhile.

心裡藍圖，逐一成真

當回歸到自己本身，王陽明認為每一個階段的他都不太一樣，就如同他喜愛的腕錶與車子般，可以是古董也可以是全新的，新舊帶有不一樣的風味，他說：「20幾歲的我，可能就會像Michael一樣血氣方剛、30多歲的我、開始懂的要定下來，要有一個安穩的事業，而現在的我，也就是全新的我，當了爸爸後會顧慮到孩子，自己的事業也要開始越來越好。」

平時除了被演藝工作與家庭填滿的王陽明，他的興趣更是多到我們無法想像，從腕錶收藏、車子收藏、潛水以及籃球等，每項興趣他都盡力的去深入鑽研，所以當被問及目前是否有想嘗試的新興趣時，他立刻笑著回答：「我的興趣真的太多了！目前最想做的事情其實就是想把EMC（Empire Motor Club）這個品牌做大，這品牌很多年了，我認為我們已經形成一個文化跟族群，所以我準備好了，近期我們就會宣布要開EMC全新概念店的消息。除此之外，我也開始要進軍球員經紀，預計目前會從籃球員開始做起，大家也請多多期待。」

這就像他自己提到的，現在全新的他，希望自己的事業越來越好，並且創造屬於自己的「王國」，在這個王國裡有他的家人、團隊跟他所熱愛的事物，他相信這個「王國」會在持續的建造與灌溉之下，更加壯大！

Mind Blueprints, Actualizing Dreams

Reflecting on his journey, Sunny believes that each phase of his life is distinct. Much like his beloved watches and cars, there are also mint condition antiques, both new and old carries unique styles. He explains, “In my twenties, I was fiery and impulsive like Michael. When I got to my thirties, I started to settle down and focus on building a stable career. Now, as a father, I balance my responsibilities for my child while working on furthering my career.”

Outside of his hectic acting career and family commitments, Sunny harbors a plethora of passions that might impress many. From horology and car collection to diving and playing basketball, he engages wholeheartedly into each pursuit. When asked about his latest interests, he chuckles and replies, “I have so many hobbies! My current primary focus is on expanding EMC (Empire Motor Club). With its longstanding presence, we have cultivated a distinct culture and community. We’re gearing up to announce a new EMC concept store soon. Besides that, I’m also venturing into sports management, starting with basketball players, so please stay tuned!”

As he mentioned, Sunny’s latest chapter is about the growth of his entrepreneurship and creating his own “Empire.” This kingdom envelopes his family, his team, and his passions. He is confident that with ongoing dedication and effort, his “Empire” will continue to thrive and expand.
