Fifteen years into his career, time no longer serves as a milestone to be defined, but a bend in the road—one that asks not for acceleration, but restraint. For Bii, this moment marks a deliberate slowing down.
Having lived in Taiwan for nearly two decades after leaving his hometown, the transition from singer to husband and father has reshaped how he experiences time.
Watching his daughter grow—her first words, her first day at school—has made the passage of days feel weightier than any anniversary on stage. These moments, fleeting yet irreversible, have shifted his focus away from grand projections of the future, toward what can be felt and preserved in the present.
Music, for him, has evolved into a form of companionship. Public service, a quiet response to the world. Entering his sixteenth year, Bii chooses to move more slowly, to feel more deeply, and to leave what matters to time itself.

Changing Roles, Redefined Time
“Lately, I’ve wanted to slow down—to really feel life,” Bii says. Becoming a father altered his understanding of time entirely. His daughter’s growth unfolds at a pace far faster than his own career ever did, reminding him how quickly each stage passes.
Returning home from the stage, he no longer feels the need to prove anything. What matters now is what remains.
Having spent nearly twenty years in Taiwan, Bii knows his audience has grown alongside him—some married, some became parents, others carrying his music as part of their personal history. He does not promise spectacle. What he hopes to offer instead are melodies that linger long after the moment has passed.
“For my wife, my daughter, and for the fans,” he says, “I want to write music that still resonates when people look back.”

When Music Becomes Presence
Earlier in his career, music was a means of expression directed outward. Today, Bii measures a song by a different standard: whether it can stay with someone. When he writes, he asks himself two questions—what emotion does this leave behind, and what image does it carry?
His own story informs this shift. Leaving Korea at seventeen, living far from home for years, the sense of distance never fully faded. Thoughts of his mother, of familiar flavors and places, return unexpectedly. He hopes his music can serve as a quiet refuge for those who live between places—a few minutes where emotions can surface, settle, and find clarity.
At recent fan events, he notices something new: couples attending together, some expecting children. The relationship between artist and audience has long surpassed one-sided support. It has become mutual, sustained by time. Music, in this space, forms a steady and gentle thread.

Stepping Into the World Beyond the Stage
As a public figure, Bii believes influence should be used, not merely seen. Years ago, traveling to Ethiopia with World Vision, he witnessed firsthand the reality of communities walking hours for water—water shared with animals. The experience reshaped his perception of daily life. Since then, he has treated restraint—not wasting—as a fundamental responsibility.
In recent years, he has also participated in charitable projects closer to home, including working with Taipei Medical University Hospital to support children and adults with cerebral palsy. Watching individuals relearn how to walk, run, or simply move freely made him realize that goodwill is not abstract—it can tangibly alter a future.
For Bii, philanthropy does not require grand gestures. It lives in sustained attention, within one’s means. Even small acts, he believes, can carry weight.

What Endures
With time, Bii describes himself as having grown “softer.” When facing pressure, he turns to the simplest rituals—running, movement—allowing emotion to pass through the body rather than remain trapped in thought. During moments of doubt, he recalls a phrase that grounds him: “Today is the day someone else no longer has.”
In his family, he carries the same gentleness into how he guides his daughter—teaching her how to express herself, how to understand others. In the world beyond, he transforms observation into action, whether through music, charity, or the way he lives.
Now entering his sixteenth year, Bii remains on stage, but with a different posture. What matters most is no longer volume or visibility, but the connections formed along the way—moments shared, light exchanged, and traces left quietly in time.
