GUERLAIN SPA
87 Years of Expertise, A New Chapter in Italy

If there is a starting point for the modern luxury spa, Guerlain stands at its origin.

In 1939, the house opened its first beauty institute at 68 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, redefining skincare as something beyond the home. Treatments were no longer just functional—they became ritual. Massage techniques, sensory experience, and refined interiors came together to form a new kind of indulgence for European high society.

Today, that address is a designated historic site. Guerlain’s treatment philosophy, meanwhile, enters its 87th year.

Spring 2026 marks a new milestone. After an 18-month restoration, Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, reopens on April 28. Set within the hills of Fiesole, surrounded by terraced gardens, this former 15th-century monastery now houses the Villa San Michele Spa by Guerlain—its first of its kind.

Here, Guerlain introduces its exclusive “Skin-Core Pilates” technique, blending French massage methods with a concept of skin training. Treatments are paired with the Orchidée Impériale line, developed over two decades of research, using rare Himalayan orchids selected from over 30,000 species.

The result is not simply visible—radiance and firmness are approached from within.

When Guerlain’s heritage meets the quiet presence of Renaissance architecture, something else emerges. Craft, nature, and time seem to align, turning each treatment into a dialogue across eras.

The foundation of DIOR SPA can be traced back to Christian Dior’s childhood memories of the gardens in Granville, and later, his estate in La Colle Noire. In central Taipei, the Mandarin Oriental Spa remains one of the few places where the city’s pace truly falls away.

Defined by its all-white, curved pod-like design, the space feels clean, light, and slightly futuristic—far removed from the darker tones of traditional spa environments. It reads almost like an escape capsule suspended above Xinyi District.
